How do you tell your story?

When people inquire about my background & the story of my Garifuna people, it requires a good 2-3 sit-down dinners to weave together the narrative of: our African ancestors, the Carib Indians in St. Vincent, the influences of European explorers, exile/relocation to the Caribbean coastal countries of Honduras/Belize/Guatemala & Nicaragua as well as our further migration to North American cities. Feasting & listening brings out the Garifuna spirit, as does copious amounts of dancing.
